Fan Voting Will Play a Major Role

One of the biggest attractions of the VRT Awards is fan participation.

Rather than relying solely on industry panels, many winners will be determined through public voting, allowing viewers to support the personalities and moments they believe defined the past year in reality television.

Page Six has announced that voting is expected to open in August, giving fans several weeks to cast their ballots before the October ceremony.

    Early Nominees Already Generating Buzz

Excitement surrounding the awards has already begun after several nominations were revealed during a live podcast appearance at the Cannes Lions festival.

Among those receiving early recognition were:

    • Kyle Cooke, nominated for Hot-Tea of the Year
    • Lindsay Hubbard and her daughter Gemma, nominated for Favorite Dynamic Duo

The surprise announcements generated enthusiastic reactions and helped build anticipation months ahead of the ceremony.

    Why These Awards Matter

Reality television has evolved far beyond guilty-pleasure viewing.

Shows across multiple networks and streaming platforms now dominate social media conversations, generate millions of weekly viewers, launch successful business ventures, and turn contestants into household names.

Awards dedicated specifically to reality television acknowledge the unique influence the genre has had on modern entertainment and pop culture.

The Virtual Reali-Tea Awards also reflect how closely audiences connect with reality stars, often following their careers long after a season ends.

    Growing Recognition for Reality Television

Over the last decade, reality TV has expanded into one of entertainment’s largest sectors.

    Popular franchises continue to inspire:

    • Podcasts
    • Live tours
    • Brand partnerships
    • Social media communities
    • Streaming spin-offs
    • Fan conventions

The VRT Awards recognize this growing influence while giving audiences another opportunity to celebrate the personalities who keep reality television entertaining year after year.
